Keynote: Engaging Returning Veterans in the Educational Process– Dr. Chu will share strategies for developing and designing services that engage, value and benefit returning servicewomen and men who are seeking to complete their college degrees.

David Chu serves as President of the Institute for Defense Analyses. IDA is a non-profit corporation operating in the public interest supporting three federally funded research and development centers that provide objective analyses of national security issues and related national challenges, particularly those requiring extraordinary scientific and technical expertise. IDA conducts and supports research requested by federal agencies involved in advancing national security and advising on science and technology issues. Dr. Chu received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Yale. He served in the Army from 1968-1970, then returned to Yale for graduate school where he received his Ph.D. in Economics. He served as Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness from 2001-2008 and as Director and then Assistant Secretary of Defense for Program Analysis and Evaluation (1981-1993).
